It's New and Improved!

Hi guys! GUESS WHAT?! I have renamed my blog:)

I have been thinking about it for a while because frankly 'Jane's Blog' was rather boring (right?), so putting our heads together, Rose and me came up with 'Catching Butterflies'. Isn't it awesome?

But then, once I had gotten a new name, my blog design didn't fit! It said the wrong thing on the header.

Luckily Rose came to my rescue and did a whole new redesign. What do you think? Don't you LOVE the pink?

Pass or Die

 

I have started writing a novel. I am so excited! Here is the summary that Rose helped me write:

Lillian Levine has always wanted to be a pirate! One day The Bloody Hammerhead, a fearsome pirate ship manned by Flotsam Mary, comes into the docks. Lillian decides she just has to join the crew or she will die. But that's easy said than done. To become part of the crew, Lillian must first pass a test and not just any old test, she must survive for a whole week on a lonely island with only a knife, a blanket and a dim boy.

I am having a great time. So far Lillian has proved to be no end of fun. Flotsam Mary is also cool! She has a really short temper, but is kind at heart.

I hope to post some of this novel soon, maybe after Easter though!

A Wonderful Day

Yesterday Mum took Rose and Me shopping. We were going to buy some winter clothes.

As we entered the clothes shop, we went over to the t shirt area and started choosing shirt after shirt. I saw a stripy one and liked it so much that Mum said I could have it.

Then we went and found some socks. My old ones are getting a bit worn through. Rose wanted black socks with coloured toes and heels. I wanted patterned socks.

Mum then took us to the shoe shop and we got new ballet flats and sneakers. I also got a pair of long leather boots!

We will do some more clothes shopping later, this is just the start.

On the way home from shopping we dropped by at Auntie Kelly's. Auntie Kelly has two boys and four girls.

I played with Emma and Bridgette. They are a lot of fun. We played with some Lego! I love Lego.

Auntie Kelly said we could stay for dinner, but Mum said we really must be getting home. So we left.

When we got home Rose and I made a quick dinner of cheese on toast, YUM! Dad came home from work after that and we all ate it together.

Then Rose and I went and played Play Station until bed. It was a lovely day!

A Busy Break

Sorry I haven't written in a while! (not since Ash Wednesday in fact). So sorry about that. What has kept me so far from my blog?

Well for a start Rose and I went to stay with our gran.  We had an awesome time. We went bush walking, bike riding, ice cream eating and we even had time for a bit of shopping.

What else? Well I started a novel and that's taking up a lot of time. I will write a post about that soon.

We haven't done much else besides laze around. I am so sorry. I'm back on track now though!

Feathertail Glider

Isn't this the cutest animal ever? It so small and wonderful. Its called a Feathertail Glider. They are the smallest gliding marsupial and where given their name because of their feather shaped tail (duh).

I don't know anything else about this animal, but I want to learn. I don't know much about any animal really and I would really love to know more about them.

So I am setting out to go learn about animals. I can't wait to share what I find. There must be so many animals out there I have no idea about.

The Penderwicks: Review

Recently I got recommended The Penderwicks to read by Rose. I was all excited to read it. I couldn't wait to get started.

I have know finished it. I really enjoyed reading it. I want to read the other two books now.

The Penderwicks is about these four children named Rosalind, Sky, Jane and Batty who go on a holiday with their dad and dog, Hound, to this estate called Arundel which is owned by the mean Mrs Tifton.

While there they get into a lot of adventures with Jeffrey, the musically talented son of Mrs Tifton,  and Cagney the gardener.

It was so amazing, you simply must read it. The character you could almost see they were described so well!

My favourite bit was the bit before the party where they are up in the attic. I could just imagine all those racks of clothes and the bows and arrows and toys and everything else.

DIY.org Joined

Today I joined DIY.org! My username is Rackoon. I know isn't spelt right, but as you can guess, Raccoon is already taken!

I can't wait to get started. It looks like it will be amazing! I can't wait to be putting projects up all over the place.

Nothing Much and Everything

Is it cheating to write about not having anything to write about? I guess it is, but I really do have nothing to write about.

I could talk about cleaning up the bedroom, but that’s such a horrid job I’m sure no one would be interested.

I could tell you about making chocolate muffins, but everyone bakes and so it isn’t really that exciting.

I could tell everyone about singing with Rose, but I don’t have much to say about it.

Or I could just leave this for another day. I am sure I think of something. I will publish this post though, because it was so much fun to write!

Changing Profile Picture

My profile picture was of me when I was being silly one day! Well I decided it doesn't quite look right, I don't want my epic grumpy face anymore.

So I found a new photo! I went to Befunky and edited it. And then, voila! New picture in a matter of minutes. And a super cool looking one at that. It always amazes me what a bit of photo editing does to a picture.

Today is Mum's birthday, we are having the day off to celebrate, woo hoo! I love days off.

 

Later we are going to go out to the café and have afternoon tea. Dad has promised to bring home a treat for after dinner when he comes home from work.

 

Rose and I have made a birthday banner. I will post a picture of it later. You should have seen Mum's face when she saw it. She was so pleased.

 

I must go, I have to find my shoes so that I am ready to go out. Bye!
